About being the real you

What is the real you ? Is it actually possible to be 100% authentic ?
In my opinion the most in touch with their inner persona are children.
Sadly only few people take the time to listen to their inner voice
during the hectics of day to day life. We have so many appointments,
tasks and things to keep in mind that we are what could be described
best as overloaded.

When I was a teenager I wasn´t only struggling with the pressure
of school and being the "well behaved ,big sister". On top of that I was
also lacking of confidence as I was bullied for several years and
saw every other girl or woman as more beautiful and mature as
me. Looking back I would call myself broken and it took years to
put back together all those pieces.

I am happy to be older now as I have learnt quiet some lessons.
If life gets too hectic I simply shut the door and do a yoga dvd,
read a good book, watch my fave comedy or listen to music. To
take such breaks is essential to gather your thoughts and to
regain some energy. I also always try to sleep enough as I simply
can´t function not being rested.

The next lesson I learnt is that we are all the same. Noone is
perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and has flaws. Keep that
in mind everyone the next time someone tries to make you
look bad. We are all just human. This also goes along with looks.
Not to be as critical with myself as I used to be feels a lot better.
I also stopped putting on makeup as a mask to hide behind it
and started to simply have fun with it like my five year old self
that played with the items of my mother.

Life is there to be lived and it´s too short not to try to
lead it the way your inner child would be proud of.
